Life was working normally. Everyone was doing their jobs, enjoying their life, was happy, students were going to school and colleges. Suddenly on 30th January, 2020 first case of corona virus was reported in India. The cases of corona virus were increasing day by day. Till March 2020 the cases reached to 550 in number.
On 22nd March prime minister Narendra Modi announced a JANTA CURFEW. He said ‘JANTA CURFEW is only a small part of big battle against corona virus”. On 24th march 2020 the FIRST NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN was announced by him on seeing the increasing case of corona.
It was announced on 24th March 2020 by Narendra Modi. It was announced for 21 days. He said that “social distancing is only the way to stop the spread of corona virus”. When the cases of corona were reached till 550, India becomes the first country to announce the nationwide lockdown at this early stage.

On 14th April, 11,145 confirmed cases were registered of corona virus. On 14th April announced the lockdown from 15th April till 3rd may.
LOCKDOWN 2.O (15th April till 3rd may)
Lockdown 2.0 was started from 15th April with same restrictions and rules. But there was a conditional relaxation announced by the government that after analyzing and evaluation of each area and location if it is seen that the number of corona cases is controlled, then those areas will be made free from the lockdown 2.O. If any new case of corona is reported in that are, then lockdown will be re-imposed.
On 16th April
The areas were divided into 3 zones:
- Red zone (hotspot areas of corona virus case)
- Orange zone: (areas which are having a less number of corona cases as compared to red zone)

Relaxations in lockdown 2.0 (20th April 2020)

- Retail shops were made to open with half-staff and certain time limit, But there was an addition of large number of corona cases till 30th April. On 30th April, 34,862 confirmed cases were reported of corona virus. Due to which PM Narendra Modi with government officials were forced to again extend the time period of lockdown till 17th may 2020.
Lockdown 3.0 was important as many lives due to corona virus were increasing day by day. And once India reached at stage 4th of corona virus then it would become so hard to control the situation.
Relaxations in lockdown 3.0(4th may to 17th may)
On 1 May, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of India further increases the lockdown time to two weeks beyond 4 May, with some relaxations. The country has been divided into 3 zones: red zones (130 districts), orange zones (284 districts) and green zones (319 districts).
Red zones are those with high corona virus cases, and a high doubling rate, orange zones are those with comparatively fewer cases and green zones are those without any cases in the past 21 days. Normal movement is permitted in green zones with buses limited to 50 percent capacity. Orange zones would allow only private and hired vehicles but no public transportation. The red zones would remain under lockdown.
On 9th May 2020, 62,000+ confirmed cases of corona virus were reported. Now the situation is out of control. From 550 cases in month of March to 62,000+ cases in month of May is a critical situation.
12th May 2020; Narendra Modi again addressed the country by seeing the situation he said, “Now corona virus is part of our life. We all have to live with it. We can’t open the lockdown until and unless the vaccine of corona virus is generated. We have to continue the lockdown #lockdown 4.0. This lockdown will have a new face, new rules and regulations. He announced 20 lakh crore (nearly 10% of India’s total GDP) financial package. There is unprecedented crisis but India will neither get tired nor give up the fight against corona virus, and asserted that “we have to protect ourselves and move ahead as well“.
Special economic package is for our labourers, farmers, honest tax payers, MSMEs and cottage industry, the Prime Minister said in a televised address to the nation. India is standing on five pillars — economy, infrastructure, governing systems, vibrant democracy, and supply chain, he said.”
Thus lockdown 4.O will be of new kind. Based on the suggestion of states and rules will be shared before 18th May 2020.
Self-reliance is possible with self-confidence and acting with strength. To compete in the global supply chain we need to act with strength. Friends, this crisis is so big that many systems have shaken but in this same time we have witnessed the strength of our workers and poor. Daily wagers, migrant labourers have suffered much in this period. It is our duty now to do something for them. Keeping this in mind, there are important decisions for them,” said Mr.Modi
Thousands of people emigrated out of their cities, as they become jobless. Following the lockdown the Indian economy fell. Due to lockdown food delivery services were banned by many states.
Many have lost their lives. Thousands of migrant workers were seen walking bare foot hundreds of kilometers to go back to their native villages. Many did while so hungry. Many of them were arrested due to breaking up with the rules of lockdown. Many died of exhaustion.
Due to corona virus till date 70,000+ is being reported as confirmed case, while 2293 have passed away due to corona virus.
Many CPRF soldiers, police officers, and even doctors are infected from corona virus. Many doctors have passed away while treating the corona virus infected patient.
On other hand government and corona warriors are doing their best to protect each one from this corona virus. Many relief packages is being started by government for each class of people so, no one faces the difficulties in this critical situation.
Let’s pray together that we all get over to this life taking deadly corona virus.
